imovie stop motion

I'm trying to create a Stop Motion video. I've got 950 stills which I have used to create an iMovie. I want to run this in reverse but here I hit a brick wall. I've followed all the instruction but the little speedometer on the video wall is greyed out and I don't know what else to do.

I could change the names of the photos I'm using but 950 is a lot of work. Any suggestions would be helpful.

The speed adjustment tool is grayed out because photos do not have moving frames with a frame rate that can be adjusted.

Share out your project to your desktop as a movie file. Then import it back into a newly created project. It will import as a video clip. The speed adjustment tool will then be available and you can apply the reverse feature.

However, you won't be able to edit the photos individually unless you split them out into separate segments.
