The following will require any USB keyboard and mouse. If you don’t have them, borrow or buy them, they are inexpensive!

If your keyboard has a USB charging cable you can use it to turn it into a USB keyboard. Then try the following:
Do you mean your computer will not turn on or is frozen somehow. If it's frozen please try a restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally. Instructions for a Safe Mode restart are in Safe Mode Reset instructions
Thank you so much for your response. I have another issue which prevents me from trying your fix. My system seems to be locked up. I had my cable people come and they did provide me with an updated modem but that has not taken care of my issues. Any other suggestions? Thank you!! Debbie
Thank you for your response. I am unable to use the safe mode reset because it tells me to hold down the shift key. I am not able to use either the keyboard or mouse.
No cord.
