Hi all, I have to install windows for some schoolwork but I keep getting this warning that boot camp cannot partition my drive. I have tried the following with no luck.

By the way I'm on a 2017 macbook air 128gb.

But I created another bootable big sur flash drive and now it’s installing big sur. I will use the migration assistant after it finishes. Then I’ll try boot camp again. I hope it works, thanks again for your help.

By erasing the whole entire disk did you mean the macintosh HD or the whole SSD? Because I’ve erased the whole SSD than I tried to restore from my time machine from internet recovery and it said to do it in the migration assistant. Then I tried to install big sur through the internet recovery but it got stuck on the first page when I hit continue.
ı’ve created a big sur installer on a flash drive from another mac. But when I hit option while booting up the system it goes to internet recovery directly.
How should I proceed? Thanks again for your help.

I tried to create a FAT partition of the size that boot camp tries to make. This is the error I got.
Post the output of
sudo fsck_apfs -n -l /dev/rdisk1
As a test, using Disk Utility, can you create a FAT partition (not an APFS volume), of the size you want Windows partition to be?
Do you have a Time Machine backup? If not, can you create one now?
Unfortunately I don't have a time machine backup and I can't create one at the moment due to time zone difference. But I will write back as soon as I create one. Thank you very much for your replies!
Never mind, I am now creating a time machine back up. What should I do next?
Once Time Machine finishes the backup, we need to erase your whole disk (not just Macintosh HD), and restore your backup, and retry BC Assistant.
Ok now I’m ready. What is the best way to do that?
Erasing the whole SSD is correct. If you are in Internet Recovery and choose Restore from Time Machine, do you get an error?
Erasing the whole SSD solved my problem. I also now have ~20gb of extra space. Thanks again for your help!
