HomePod Handoff Not Working

Hi, I have an iPhone 6s and a new HomePod Mini that I had gotten for Christmas. I have never been able to handoff audio to it by tapping my phone near it like it’s supposed to. I spoke extensively with an Apple support specialist and after a long conversation he concluded that there was nothing wrong with the HomePod and that I’d have to wait for an iOS update to fix it.

Now iOS 14.4 has come out and it still doesn’t work. I’ve reset my HomePod multiple times and Handoff is on as you can see so what’s going on?

I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue.
