Screen record does not work

I got my laptop about a year ago. Fairly close to telling everyone I know to stay far far away. For one, this thing just up and dies randomly (usually around 20-10%.) Also, I used to use the screen record all the time and throw away the recording after use (for class.) Today I come to find none of my class was recorded cause this stupid computer glitched out. Whenever I click record, it just says 00:00 and stops. No filled storage pop up. Nothing. And I've searched for a long time to answers to both of these, but to no avail. SO ANNOYING.

It sounds like you're experiencing some issues with your Mac powering off unexpectedly, as well as issues with recording your screen. We want to help any way we can.

For the issue with your Mac powering off unexpectedly, when that happens, are you able to power your Mac back on, or do you have to connect it to a charger to get it back up and running?

As for the issue with recording your screen, can you let us know if you're using these steps to record your screen? How to record the screen on your Mac If so, we any changes to made to your Mac or its settings before this issue began?
