My touchbar doesn't light up anymore. How do I turn it back on so I can see the functions?

If you have an Intel Mac try an SMC Reset and PRAM Reset.


Try booting into Internet Recovery Mode using Command + Option + R if you have an Intel Mac. Instructions for an M1 Mac are included in the Apple article as well:

If the Touchbar doesn't light up in Internet Recovery Mode, then you likely have a hardware issue.
