update mac mini m1 to macOs 11.2

It is now 3 days since I can't update my mac mini m1 s macOs big sur 11.2. When the download is complete (4.18 Gb) I get the message "Download failed, an error occurred while trying to download the selected updates. Please check your internet connection and try again later". My connection has no problems because my mac mini can download 4.18 gb in a few minutes and everything is working. Coming from windows I would not know how to solve as well as being disappointed because I thought these problems only concerned microsoft. Thanks to those who want to help me

I called into Apple Care about this problem and Apple told me that I needed 40 GB of free space for an update. I deleted some movies and the backup worked like magic. It was never a WiFi issue afterall!

Hmm, sorry to hear. Shut down your mini completely, pull power from socket, and restart everything 5 minutes later. If that doesn’t fix, please provide details on how your mini is connected to the router.

In order to completely eliminate your network, I am sorry for my next idea which is: carry your mini to a friend’s place and try it there. Be sure to buy him/her a drink and say “hcsitas says Ciao”. Good luck!

That’s a good point. I don’t know, hopefully someone else will answer. But I would take the idea one step further: reinstall https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904#erase. Needless to say, copy data you wish to preserve.

first yes all i want to thank you and apologize for my english. I can not even after 5 minutes with the mini disconnected ... if it can help you I use the wifi but I had the same problem with the lan cable too. the download goes regular up to 2 gb and then reaches 4.18 gb in a few seconds and then gives me the error signal.
