HomePod airplay issue with iTunes

When AirPlaying iTunes from my MacBook to my HomePod the sound will stop if I skip ahead in the song. A song will start playing without issue, but if I click on the time bar to skip ahead, the HomePod kicks out a microsecond blip of the song and then stops playing. The song continues playing, the timer is still moving, but the HomePod stops producing sound. The strange thing is I do not have this issue if I skip ahead in a song by dragging on the trackpad, only if I physically click ahead. Any idea why or how to fix this?
