Cellular Error

I have iphone 7 which I had since 2017 and it worked fine until a few days ago. In the last few days I am getting the cellular error msg and am wondering if this is another Apple’s deliberate manipulation to enforce an upgrade or is this a know bug. Because if I have to change my iPhone my next choice for sure will not be an Apple product
