Hi, normally I close my laptop screen (not shut down) to take a break before resuming to work half an hour later. When I open my laptop screen, the desktop page shows up, goes black for a split second and then comes back on asking for password.
I bought this machine in November 2020, so it's brand new.
Is this a recurring issue or a settings problem?

I can only assume this is a new issue...
What changed to precipitate the problem.
>system Preferences>Security & Privacy>General> psswd required after sleep (?)
