What could be the reason for not seeing a flashing light when using Face ID to unlock my iPhone XS Max?

You are not supposed to see any "light" when using Face ID.
That is normal.
How about the other blinking lights next to the camera and speaker?

I’m not seeing any, just the light when I’m using the camera or on a call
I know I can’t see infrared lights but I often see some blinking lights there at the top of the screen and now I ain’t seeing any
I’ve never seen any blinking lights at the top of the screen. Can you post a screen shot or describe them?
