Keyboard switching

Hello, is there a way to stop switching keyboard to default on messages? I’m bilingual and me and my partner write messages in our native language, but it seems that iPhone doesn’t remember that and each time I go to messages it’s English again. I don’t even close messages completely, they run in the background, but still when I’m coming back to them it’s English again. So I start typing the message and it’s types in English, and it’s quite annoying as I don’t always remember to switch back to our language. You would thought it’s a simple thing, but apparently not. I don’t even dream of automatic language recognition and switching half way through the word like old Nokias used to do....

Thank you.

Try updating it to 14.4; Apple said that one of the bug fixes of 14.4 is Keyboard switching, so that would explain why my troubleshoot didn’t work...

Try this Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support (I put this link if you don’t have enough space on your iPhone so you can update it in your computer).

Hello! I’m here to help you, so, this is actually pretty easy; here are the steps:

1.- Open Settings app.

2.- Go to General.

3.- Go to Keyboard.

4.- Go to Keyboards.

5.- Tap on Edit.

6.- Drag your main keyboard to the top. (To drag just put your finger on the three lines that appear next to the keyboard).

7.- Click Done.

And that’s it. Hope this helps!
