Export and import HEIC files

I am finding it really difficult to export and import HEIC files to my iPad , especially Live Photo’s. I am unable for example to upload HEIC files at all to iCloud photos. It seems I can airplay them between iDevices but that’s about all. Why is this so?

I had Google Photos syncing for a while and it stores the HEIC files. In order to move away from Google to iCloud, I need to import these files to the iOS Photos environment somehow. I haven’t managed to find a way to do it yet. Help?

Can’t sync raw photos I used to use my Canon 5D III to take my family photos in RAW format. In order to collect a full album of my two kids I used Photos to import the RAWs and edit them. Once I completed the edit then I will sync them to my iPhone. However recently I found this practice no longer worked. I can still import and edit the RAWs but can’t sync to my iPhone. I have tried to create a new system library and transfer all my photos to the new library it’s worked only for once and the problem persists.

Can't import photos into Photos App (Catalina) I suddenly can't import photos from my iPhone (14 Pro & 7 Plus) or even Downloads Folder to Photos on Catalina. It was OK a few months ago, but is suddenly not working anymore.

Unable to import photos after upgrading to OS Ventura I have not been able to import photos since upgrading to Ventura. I connect my iPhone by hardwire to the my Mac, but photos will not transfer to my Mac. I have tried privacy settings, turning off hotspot, placing on airplane mode (toggling) and nothing works. I reverted back to Monterey which worked for downloads, but my photos file will not open with Monterey any more. Any ideas?
