zoom causing kernel_task to use more than 1000%

Hi All, I just upgraded to 10.15.7 Catalina. As soon as I did, when I run zoom, it starts causing the displays and audio to glitch and kernel_task to start creating a huge load. Zoom itself is using around 120% CPU, but kernel_task goes crazy high cpu. If I quit zoom it slowly returns to a normal base load average based on top of around 1.8-2. I have a mac pro 2013 fully maxed out.

Any idea what I can do to prevent this? I'm heavily reliant on zoom right now.

Mac Pro, macOS 10.15

I started experiencing the same problem when I upgraded to the latest Zoom version 5.5. Now I have problems with the Kernel_task spiking to 1000% CPU utilization. I verified that quiting Zoom returns CPU utilization back to normal. Sometimes while in Zoom, turning off the camera also helps minimize kernel_task lower its CPU usage.

I'm on BigSur 11.2.2 on my MBP 15" 2019.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
