iPad won’t charge

iPad 7th generation in excellent 1 year old condition suddenly went dead and won’t charge. Never had any issues prior to this. Tried hard reset only to get the image of the cable needing to be plugged in. Switched out cable, plug and different outlet with no luck.

note - 7th gen iPad not a choice in the list of possible devices below. Had to choose 6th.
