I bought a iPad 8 from Best Buy in November. I haven’t used it much but recently noticed there was a small speck of dust under the screen. Since COVID has closed all the apple stores in my area I tried contacted apple support. They had me send the iPad in but immediately sent it back saying they couldn’t find a problem. What are my options at this point if they refuse to help me? The picture below is an extreme close up...you can see the individual pixels.
There are no self-help options. If your screen has a defect, you have no alternative other than to seek repair or exchange by your retailer.
It is considered (at best) to be cosmetic and not covered by the warranty.
That's why it was sent back.
I just ended up selling it. Apple was absolutely no help. Good luck.

I asked the same questions, and I'm waiting for answer:
1) dust can damage touch screen or compromise IPad functionality in the future?
2) If dust apperas after some weeks/months, which is the true reason? I do not think this is only a "cosmetic" problem.

Apple refuses to repair/replace it, as they claim they can’t see it. Very bad customer service.
I sent it in to apple and they say they can’t see it and are sending it back with no work done. I’m not sure what to do next.

That’s not how I meant that. I meant that I find it unbelievable (unacceptable) they think that a obstruction under the screen is “cosmetic”.
