iPhone is disabled, try again in 55 minutes

I have an iPhone 11 and did a factory reset on it, but continuously get the dreaded message and I cannot proceed.

Did you repeatedly put in the wrong password before this message came up? If so you have to wait the allotted time. But if you continue to put in the wrong password you will extend the time it’s disabled. Follow the steps in the following link https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204306

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I’m aware of that but don’t even get prompted for a password. I was pretty sure of the password I put in when I first got the phone in June. Can I reassign a password if it doesn’t loop around with the same message? I haven’t been able to use the phone at all since July 2020.
