Macbook Pro Keyboard won't type a capitol letter P via shift key

My keyboard recently stopped typing capitol P when i try to using the shift - p method. I can still get a capitol P when using the cap locks key. This is the same if I am using a bluetooth keyboard or the keyboard on the computer. I have already tried erasing the drive and restoring from a recent time machine backup. The backup unfortunately is from when the p issue existed and the backup I have previous to that is in July, a little earlier than I'd like to go. Also when I erased and restored I updated to the most recent operating system which also didn't solve the problem.

Should I just restore it to the July backup or erase the disk and migrate things manually? I took it to the apple store and they would have to keep it for 4 days to diagnose and fix it right now and I can't leave it that long because of work.

Any thoughts appreciated,

Thanks
