Deletion of windows that pop up

I recently updated to Catalina and I keep getting two windows (one that says Alert Decetor cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified) and another one (node cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified) in each window I get a choice to Move to Trash or Cancel. If I click on Move to Trash a new window pops up that says it can't be moved to trash. Is there a way to get rid of these windows. I tired opening in Safe Mode, but that was not helpful.

Uninstall Alert Detector:

Uninstall Security Software from your Mac. It is unneeded, as it just gets in the way. I would contact the developer asking the proper procedure for removal. If you uninstall it, then it would no longer show up.

Use MalwareBytes for Mac:

This is software that searches for malware/adware (malicious software). So, scan with it and then remove what is found. Once removed, uninstall MalwareBytes for Mac. Then restart the Mac. It is created by longtime users of these forums. So, that is why it is the only trustworthy and reliable way to go about securing your Mac, when it comes through use of software

  2. Malwarebytes uninstaller

"Thank you for your reply, however I am not able to find any security apps that I have not already removed. Where or how should I be looking for said apps?"

A. Finding These:

Did you use an uninstaller? If not, but rather dragged the icon to the trash, then caches and all other junk files form these apps are all laying about your Mac. So, likely, you'd have to reinstall all the software, and then uninstall each using an uninstaller. Ask the developer(s) of these software apps where to go from there. As fro which files they are, I'm not so certain there is a discrepancy between two or more of the same-named files.

B. Restore form a Time Machine Backup:

  1. Did you recently create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this? IF so, restore from that, and all would be fine.

Are you Concerned of Losing Data?:

  • If not, just move ahead and erase the disk and then install the macOS.
  • If so, then first backup your macOS.

Backing Up the Mac: Start by creating a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Go Here: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support
