I tried more than 7 times now to initialise the installation of iOS 14.4 on my XR running 14.3.
The Update gets downloaded and the phone reboots or at least seems to start the installation. After a reboot that is initiated by the phone it every time is still on iOS 14.3 and nothing happens. no error message, no notification nothing.
what can I do?
(all regular prerequisite are met, charge state of battery, connection to power, ...etc..)
Use internet speed over 15 Mbps (both download and upload) speed for error free update. Avoid latching on to Hotspot or WiFi Extenders
VPN or proxy connections might prevent your device from contacting the update servers.
If you still can't install the latest version of iOS, try downloading the update again:
If you don’t see the update in the list of apps or if the issue happens again, you need to update your device with iTunes.
Try updating iOS after each step.

OK, when going through the installation through a Mac I at least do get an error message..
OK, after one more reboot of the phone the iOS 14.4 was on it.
So using the way of installation through a MacBook worked, but not very smooth.
