Nike Running Club App keeps pausing

The app is basically useless which is ironic as I own a Nike Apple Watch 6. While running it switches the face onto the talk while you walk Apple thing but more importantly the app randomly pauses the run. Note I have auto pause off (in any case it pauses while I am running not stopping). Note also I am wearing the watch tighter than normal while running so it is not coming out of contact with my wrist. Finally the app sometimes fails to sync with Apple Fitness- when I check it has disconnected the synch function which I have to then authorise again.

What kind of iPhone do you use with your Apple Watch and what software version is it at? Settings > General > About.

Also, what watchOS is currently installed on your Apple Watch? To find it, on your iPhone open the Apple Watch app, then tap My Watch > General > About.
