iOS Home App Crashes on startup.

For a short while now, I can not start the Home App any more.

Every time I try to start it, it starts to open up and then crashes without reaching it's screen.

  • Restarting the phone didn't change anything.
  • Upgrading from iOS 14.3 to 14.4 didn't change anything
  • Resetting the Network Settings didn't change anything

any other Ideas or suggestions anyone?

Thank you for posting here in Apple Support Communities, c.mos.

We understand that you're experiencing an unexpected shutdown of the Home app, and we'd be happy to help. Since you've already performed a few troubleshooting steps, let's continue on by removing the Home app from your iPhone and then download a fresh copy from the App Store: Delete built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS 14 or iPadOS device or Apple Watch - Apple Support

Let us know the results.

Cheers!

When trying to delete the home app from the „App-mediathek“ I do get the notification, that I do need to remove all homepods from my „home“ before being able to delete it.

I am still trying to find out HOW to do that without deleting the whole location and what else I will loose by doing so. And if there is a way to do that wirhout resetting all (both) homepods.

so, I am on it, but it is not so simple.
