Choosing Apple power adapter/charger for iPhone SE

The charger for my iPhone SE has died so I looked at the chargers online at the Apple Store. I see USB 5W and USB-C 20W both for $19.

Will the USB-C charger actually charge my iPhone faster because of the higher current?

Any reason to not buy the 20W charger?

Not expecting an older phone to charge much faster, but now that Apple and other vendors have stopped including chargers with so many devices, getting one that is higher power as well as USB-C for some degree of future-proofing seems worthwhile since it's no more money...5W, 12W and 20W are all $19.

This is the first time I've had an issue with an Apple power adapter, ever so I'm a bit bummed out. While I'm deciding what to buy I'm actually using my laptop's 30W USB-C charger right now to top off the iPhone ;)

Thx for your replies.

It's an SE gen 1, so no "fast charging". At the same price as the 5W unit, it seems for future utility the 20W is a better buy as they are the same price. The USB-C vs. USB-A connection is not an issue.

What I've read elsewhere is that the charger will only source as much current as the phone asks for. My understanding is that is normally 12W max (2.4A).

Apple does not list older iPhones like mine as compatible...I just want to be 100% sure that I won't be damaging the phone.
