trackpad

trackpad not working = cursor moving but no click so can't isolate, drag, drop or scroll. Tried reboot, relaunching finder, pram reset, system preferences etc - no luck - any other success stories? I'm on a macbook air

I also can't install the new operating system having spent all morning trying and freeing up storage - but it's the trackpad i need fixing. Please help
