iTunes often lags significantly (1-5 secs) in responding to mouse and keyboard commands. I'm running it on a more than reasonably powerful Dell PC (i7-10700K @ 3.80 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, etc...) with the latest updates for both Windows and iTunes. Any thoughts?
The problem seems to go away if I disable my Killer E2600 wired ethernet adapter and use the Killer AX1650i WiFi adapter to connect to my Netgear R6400 router instead. Sigh.
The problem goes away if I disable WiFi Sync for my phone. That's not a viable solution, of course.
It seems to have something to do with a spike in network traffic by the Mobile Device Service.
The lags seem to coincide with an increase in network activity by AppleMobileDeviceService.exe to 127.0.0.1 (WTF?), which I can clearly see using the Resource Monitor.
Excluding my iTunes folder from Windows Defender doesn't seem to help.

I have over 12,000 songs in my library
The problem is easy to reproduce by going to the full list of songs and scrolling through it using my mouse wheel. There will be regular pauses even though I continue to roll the wheel, then the display skips ahead.
A clean reinstall of iTunes failed to help.
