iPhone X Lightning/Headphone Splitter

I just purchased an adaptor xable for my iPhone X that allows for charging and listening to music via aux cable simultaneously; but when I begin playing music, even before the music starts, there is a soft static hiss that is very noticeable.

clarification: This static hiss occurs during charging, as well as when only using the auxiliary port without the charger present.

is there any way to fix this, or is my device simply damaged/defective?

Hi JBrown1937,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that when you use this aux cable with your iPhone X, there is a static noise whether charging or playing music.

If this does not happen when you charge or listen to music without your adapter, this issue is isolated to the adapter itself. It may be best to reach out to the manufacturer of this adapter directly.

Take care.
