importing from wrong project.

I'm working on multiple chapters of an audio book. For each chapter I have several sections. Each of these has been edited separately. I then build a consolidated chapter by using the media tab and importing the audio and limiter settings from each of the projects. For 9 chapters this has worked perfectly. However in this last two chapters, when I try to import the third section into the combined project, I get a copy of the first section, not the third section.

Details:

I edit each section separately, and make sure it meets all criteria. Usually the only thing I have to do is set a limiter on the track to bring values into tolerance. Then I duplicate section 1, and then use the media bowser (far right button at the top) to import the audio/limiter from the other two projects. Then I align them and do the final bounce. But now for some reason, it duplicates the first track when I try to import the third.

Thanks.

It appears to be a bug in file renaming when copying. On some of the projects the original recording was saved by the person who sent them to me before renaming the project. So the underlying aif name in each of the chapter sections is Untilted_1#01.aif. When I import the second chapter section, the underlying audio file is renamed to Untitled_1#01_1.aif, which works fine. When I import the third chapter section, it doesn't copy the underlying audio file and applies all of the edits to the existing file untitled_1#01.aif. In the cases that it worked, the third party had renamed the project before editing, so the underlying file had different names for each of the chapters. Renaming each of the underlying files in the chapter section projects fixed the problem.
