Apple Watch App

My Apple Watch app won’t open so I can’t start pairing my new Apple Watch. I tried deleting the app so I could reinstall it but that only removed the icon from my Home Screen. How can I fix this?

Will force closing apps on apple watch improve performance/battery? I recently bought an Apple Watch SE and I am wondering if closing apps will improve performance or battery life. I would like to use the dock as an app launcher but don't know if I need to use the app switcher to close apps. Will not having an app switcher to close apps affect my performance and battery life? Cupertino still show up on Apple Watch after being deleted from iPhone I have done everything suggested. I deleted Cupertino and New York from world clock on iPhone. Cupertino still shows up on my watch. I live on east coast and could care less about weather on west coast [Re-Titled by Moderator]
