Will force closing apps on apple watch improve performance/battery?

I recently bought an Apple Watch SE and I am wondering if closing apps will improve performance or battery life. I would like to use the dock as an app launcher but don't know if I need to use the app switcher to close apps. Will not having an app switcher to close apps affect my performance and battery life?

No, it will not improve performance and may, in fact decrease it. Watches, like iPhones and iPads are designed to do their own memory management and they’re good at it. Interfering with it means that, instead of unsuspending an app, it has to be completely relaunched, which takes more processor cycles and more battery.
