Apple watch Sleep mode on automation doesn't work since last update

if I disable / enable the sleep focus mode on my watch it would work but not from the when entering the mode via the automation.

It will show that the sleep mode is enabled only on the icon on the Apple watch but the watch face isn't on the sleep mode.

It was working since last update.

Hey BugBounty,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We want to try a few steps with you to resolve your issue with your Apple Watch:

Go to Settings > Focus, and make sure Share Across Devices is enabled on your iPhone.

If you have that on and Focus still isn't behaving correctly on your Apple Watch, try and unpair and pair your Apple Watch again:

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Cheers!

This has been reported as a bug on multiple occasions by myself and others. It’s still an issue in iOS 16.2 and WatchOS 9.2

Deleting the shortcut and recreating it doesn’t make a difference.

Unpairing and repairing doesn’t either.

Replies dry up when we tell people that.

Feel free to test on your own watches by simply telling Siri to turn on sleep focus. Or creating your own shortcut.

The sleep focus will be set but display will not dim.

Now manually try setting sleep focus on the watch and it will work perfectly like it did in prior to iOS 16. In that the focus mode is set AND the Watch display turns off after approx 10 seconds.

Several users are asking for help and we get nothing useful.

Hi BugBounty,

We'd like to clarify, are you reaching out to troubleshoot with us, or are you only wanting to report what you believe to be a bug to Apple?

If you would like to troubleshoot, let us know what happened when you unpaired/paired your Apple Watch. We'll go from there. We ask and recommend steps because we do not have a way of knowing what you have tried prior to reach out to us.

If you are only wanting to report the behavior you have found, then you will want to leave feedback for Apple by going to Product Feedback - Apple.

Take care!
