How to force quit on my MacBook because I can’t get safari to respond/open

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Option Command Esc opens the Force Quit drop down,


or from the >Force Quit>Safari — if it refuses to Quit you can force quit the Mac by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6 sec. (You may loose the latest unsaved documents/edits only.) No harm here.


Reboot as normal and test.


If Safari does shuts down, when you relaunch it, hold the Shift key to launch it w/ a clean browser window —this will side stepping the past issue.
