When typing "I" it always shows up as "small I. (corrects it here.
Beginning sentences it does not capitalize first word. I'm using Big Sur OS.
In System Preferences/keyboard/text I have checked "capitalize words automatically".
This is an issue that needs to be addressed. PLEASE HELP!

In Mail > Edit check your setting for spelling and grammar and transformations, etc.

Yes, at least if something is not behaving the way you want.
Logically the system setting should rule over the apps, but it doesn't seem to work that way, I don't know why.
Never include logically into our thinking. Often each app developer/support team operates in silos. syncing all is a management challenge. note small "s" and "n" in auto correction in this text editor.
