MIDI keyboard connection

I have an older Studiologic SL161 Pro and I bought MIDI-USB converter cable to connect to my Macbook Pro (2017- Sierra 10.12.6). I followed everything from support but no sound. I wanted to use with Finale and Garage. The most important would be for me, to play the keyboard and hear the voice. I am a starter in using MIDI and thank you for any help!

(One more: in Moodle there is no sound of the mp4 videos what I uploaded next week. Chrome plays it, Sierra not.)
