Unable to add FaceTime to camera privacy options in settings

Ive been experiencing issues while using the FaceTime app on my iMac recently. My camera is not being displayed on other peoples devices. however, it work fine and well with Zoom. I selected Systems, security and privacy in the systems preferences, and saw the icon referring camera. the option option that was visible was Zoom. However, I don't have the option to add FaceTime to the list so that I can get the camera to work. Does anyone have any advice....?

regards

Hello Skittall,

Try closing all apps that may be using your video/camera (photo booth, skype, zoom, ect) and call them again. FaceTime has access to your camera by default, so it wont show in the video access tab.

When launching FaceTime, does your Video show next (Right) to your contacts list? If it does, then it might be an issue with the other user's device. If you cannot see it, its an issue with FaceTime app itself. Try rebooting your device if you cannot see your video when launching FaceTime. If none works, it may be an issue with the camera itself.

Good day and thank you for you response. However, I tried your suggested answer and unfortunately this has not worked. Funny enough, I can take a picture of myself using the camera and it works fine. When using FaceTime, my image appears in the boxing when connecting to video calls, there is only audio present but my image does not appear in the other persons device. This fault only occurs when using FaceTime calling different people. In addition, I do not have this problem using zoom.

im hoping someone can help me resolve this issue.
