Alarm clock icon not showing up when alarm is set

I just bought an iphone 12 mini and can't figure out how to get the alarm clock icon to show up in the upper right corner next to the battery, wifi, etc. icons. In previous versions, a clock icon would appear in the upper right corner next to the battery icon when the alarm is set. I have added the alarm clock to the control center, but still no alarm clock icon appears. And the icon that appears in the control center when I open it has no visual indication for whether it is set or not. So adding the button to the control center just gives me another way to access the alarm clock but still provides to visual indicator that the alarm is set. Where/how can I get a visual indicator that the alarm is set without actually having to open the alarm clock directly?

Hi mmlosey,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re wondering about the Alarm icon not appearing in your status bar when one is set. We’re happy to provide some information.

What you’re describing is expected behavior. You should be able to swipe to open Control Center and then see it in the status bar next to your Wi-Fi and battery symbol.

You can find steps for accessing Control Center here: Access Control Center on your iPhone and iPod touch

If you’d like to provide feedback regarding this feature, you can do so here: Product Feedback - Apple

Take care.

Thank you for confirming that the visual alarm indicator in the status bar has been removed. Very, very disappointed but at least I know that I don't have something set incorrectly. However, regarding you guidance on the control center....from my original post..."And the icon that appears in the control center when I open it has no visual indication for whether it is set or not. So adding the button to the control center just gives me another way to access the alarm clock but still provides to visual indicator that the alarm is set." Can you please confirm whether that the button that shows up in the control center is supposed to give a visual indicator that the alarm is actually set? Or is this just a button for me to click on to open up the alarm page? I was hoping for some visual cue (color change, vibration lines, anything) to quickly show me whether it is set rather than having to resort to actually going into the alarm page every single time.
