Parentheses around names when dictating/voice to texting

So this question was asked several times, and I never found the answer but I figured it out:

Whenever I said my son's name, dictation would put parentheses around it, no matter what - example: (Sam). I saw (Sam) playing outside. (Sam) is with grandma. Etc.

I realized that I had one of his teachers as a contact and I had his name in parentheses as part of the contact. For whatever reason, dictation took the spelling from the contact (even though I had his name in the "company" line and his name was not even the actual contact). Mystery solved. I took off the parentheses and now I can just say his name and it does not have the parentheses.

I have the same problem and it seems to be continuing even after I removed the parentheses around my son's name which I had in parentheses as the company name for one of his babysitters. I was hoping removing that would fix it but the problem persists. Any further insight?

Ha... I just solved it too. I added a contact with my son's name and now it works. Yay!
