iPhone XR Aux Volume

My iPhone XR was only purchased a year ago, and I have noticed that my volume through my aux cord is about 3/4 quieter than when others use my cord. This problem isn’t as noticeable with headphones. How do I make it louder or solve the problem.

iPhone XR, iOS 14

Greetings, CharLauren121.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We can understand why you’d want to figure out why your volume is lower when using an AUX cord.

While the following article applies to headphones, there are steps that are beneficial for AUX cords too: If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue continues, consider answering the following questions.

  • Which iOS version are you using?
  • Does this happen with other AUX cords?
  • What type of AUX cord are you using?

All the best.
