The real reason is my stepdad is an asshole and likes to randomly pause my WiFi during school and it's not funny. My mom is at work and she can't do anything about it and I read that if you change your virtual MAC address it tricks the Xfinity WiFi into thinking it's a different device.
I'm sorry but what you have is not a technology problem but a family problem.
Best of luck.

Whoever wrote that was wrong. Or you misunderstood. The only way to completely change the MAC address would be to get a new network card.
If you're worried about being tracked, get rid of any cellular devices you have.

The MAC address is assigned when the device is being built; there is no way to change it.
Out of curiosity: why would you want or need to change it? It is a unique identifier.
MAC addresses are hard-coded into the network card. You can't change them.
