Google Meet not working on Safari

So I attend a lot of Zoom and Google Meets. Nothing's wrong with Zoom, but here's the issue. If you try to join a Google Meet on Safari (macOS 11), the audio goes haywire for one minute, around once every 30 seconds. The video is ok, but the sound is just like someone farting while beatboxing. Why on earth is this?

Hello and thank you for using Apple Support Communities,

We see that you're having an issue with the audio when using Google Meet on your Mac. We'd be happy to provide you with some information that can help.

Since this is only happening in the one application, take a look at the link below that can help with adjusting your audio settings for this application. If the issue remains, you'd want to reach out to Google Meet Support for further assistance.

Change your computer's video & audio settings
