Old passcode no access to sensitive information

I after having frustration chose to do the silly thing and make a passcode long end filled with words that I told myself I could never forget. 10 minutes later I was locked out of my phone and I’ve never remember the passcode. I followed the instructions given and after some help from my service provider and the geek squad I reset my device and attempted to log back in. That is when I was confronted with the screens I shared. Informing me that the passcode was used to encrypt information and without it cannot be read by Apple.

The part that gives me hope is where it allows approving the device if I am signed into iCloud which I am now on this website and on the iCloud website itself but can find a no option to approve or provide codes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Idloveitall,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. It looks like you're being prompted for a passcode that you're unable to remember. We are happy to provide you with some information.

It looks like you are being asked for the device passcode that was previously set, either on this iPhone or a different one. If you don't remember the passcode, you will need to reset the encrypted data to continue setting up the iPhone. When you reset encrypted data, the following data is reset, per iCloud security overview - Apple Support:

  • "Apple Card transactions (requires iOS 12.4 or later)
  • Home data
  • Health data (requires iOS 12 or later)
  • iCloud Keychain (includes all of your saved accounts and passwords)
  • Maps Favorites, Collections and search history (requires iOS 13 or later)
  • Memoji (requires iOS 12.1 or later)
  • Payment information
  • QuickType Keyboard learned vocabulary (requires iOS 11 or later)
  • Safari History and iCloud Tabs (requires iOS 13 or later)
  • Screen Time
  • Siri information
  • Wi-Fi passwords
  • W1 and H1 Bluetooth keys (requires iOS 13 or later)"

Best.
