Apple pencil no longer writing

Hello! I recently dropped my apple pencil (Second Gen), causing the tip to break off, I managed to get the broken piece that was stuck inside of the pencil out, and I also replaced the tip with a tip from my other apple pencil (It was quite eroded though). However, even with the tip from my old pencil, the pencil no longer works, it connects with the iPad but it doesn't write. I fear that either, when I removed the broken tip piece, I broke the golden piece to which you screw the tip, or that I broke the part which connects with the tip, or the replaced tip is too eroded to work. If someone can just give a solution that would really help as replacement tips are really expensive.
