if one's battery condition has dropped to 90% in no time? have not even had my phone for a year yet. What do you think, should I send it in with the guarantee or?

That can be completely normal. The warranty only covers defective batteries so unless Apple runs diagnostics and it says defective you won’t get it replaced under warranty.
