Verdana displays as question marks in Mail, Safari and Keynote. In Adobe apps and MS Word, Verdana displays normally.
I've tried using FontBook to fix this, but FontBook tells me that Verdana is ok and there are no duplicates.
This is super-annoying. Does anyone have a fix?

Starting in safe mode and removing all my login items did not fix the problem.
Restoring fonts using FontBook did not fix the problem. Got this message:
"Your system already contains the standard system fonts and no others. No changes were made"
Any other ideas?
