SOCD report detected: (AP watchdog expired)

Just had another unexpected reboot, this time I was at the computer and the screen flashed green then it restarted. But it didn't provide any error message or opportunity to report it.

I chatted with Apple support online and the person clearly has instructions to escalate these cases because as soon as I described it and let them know that I had already booted into safe mood and done some other basic troubleshooting they said "escalation is the right path to get this resolved" and that it's "not the expected behaviour of the device."

So everyone please report your issue to Apple, make sure they know so they can fix this and do a recall and repair program.

No USB connection, nothing, no ports occupied. Consistent crashes since I purchased the MacBook Air last December. It's with Apple now and they are replacing the logic board.

Same happening here! Brand new Mac mini ! Very frustrating ! Apple told me to disconnect my HD and work without ! I edit on FCPX via my SSD !!

I have had kernel panics due to wakeup issues and the SOCD AP watchdog after the 11.3.1 update.

Happened 3 times already and I can confirm I have a Western Digital 8TB drive connected trough a USB-C to USB-3.1 connector.

Adding to this, also just experienced this issue for the first time. I had a WD external hard drive attached at the time of crash.

I did not encounter this issue since the last update, version 11.4 (20F71).

Meanwhile, you missed the actual SSD thrashing bug that already got fixed by 11.3. Hope the people staying on 11.2 forever so they can sideload crap enjoy their early machine death.

Happened today to my M1 iMac too, only usb device connected was the official apple usb-c to usb-a converter connected to an empty Apple Watch charging cable

Literally just happened to me, too. I only purchased my Mac Mini on 26th Feb 2021.

And, I was running Google Chrome, Apple Mail and Whatsapp. At the time, I was merely watching a YouTube video, and then bam, bright green screen.

Not a positive start really...
