AddressBookSourceSync uses over 90% CPU

My 10 year old Mac would frequently run "hot" - the fan would be on constantly and the laptop would really warm up. I splurged on a new laptop, in part because of the "running hot" issue.... and because the OS would not longer update.

What a surprise to find that my new Mac has the same issue. "AddressBookSourceSync" uses over 90% CPU and turns itself on intermittently. I just got off the phone with Apple Tech support and there are no Knowledge Articles to assist. This issue does not exist for Apple. Has anyone found a way around this annoying issue? Thanks
