iphone 4 sign in

I have a iphone 4 that my son wants to use as a ipod. I have restored the settings and it will not allow me to sign in to get the App store. I put in the apple id and then the password , it sends a code to my current phone, but where do I put the code

If you see a password box, enter the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123 (no spaces).
