The window options will change a bit once you select Media Sharing (instead on Screen Sharing now) in the left pane.
[Screen Sharing is a different function and not needed for Home Sharing. File Sharing is a different function and not needed for Home Sharing.]
Yes, assuming Home Sharing is turned on both the Mac and Apple TV. Please refer to https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202190 to learn how.
Home Sharing is not supported on smart TVs with the Apple TV app or third party streaming devices with the Apple TV app.
Home Sharing is supported on the Apple TV set-top box. You will find the shared content in the Computers app on the Apple TV box, not in the TV app, as described on rkaufmann87’s linked document.
I am using an Apple TV 4K set top box. I am also using a MBP, and an iPhone. All on the same network, and all logged in with the same Apple ID. The content was uploaded on the MBP, to the TV app. It is not visible on any other device.
On Mac with macOS Catalina or later, activate Home Sharing in:
System Preferences﹥Sharing﹥☑︎Media Sharing﹥Library Name: «mac-library-identifier»
System Preferences﹥Sharing﹥☑︎Media Sharing﹥☑︎Home Sharing
On iPhone, find the shared content in the TV app: Library tab﹥«mac-library-identifier»﹥
On Apple TV, find the shared content in the Computers app.
Untagged video files will be categorized as Home Videos.
I don't see where I can create the path to the library name. I'm on 11.2.1
Home sharing is on, and I can only view purchased content on all devices.....not my own content that I uploaded.
