file vault message

when i try to turn on file vault i get this message
Authentication server failed to complete the requested operation.

- Reset SMC: How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support.
- Try turning on FileVault in Safe Mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support. (Safe Mode is for testing only)
- Run First Aid: How to repair a Mac disk with Disk Utility - Apple Support.
