Deleting apps from iPhone 7 Plus issues. The “x” no longer appears on the app icon when trying to delete. The icon wiggles and offers 2 options but not delete. Help.

The deletion of an app from the home screen is no longer working.

Process:

• Press and hold app icon on home screen.
• All apps wiggle and those that can be deleted have an “x” at the top left.
• Simply press the “x” on the corresponding app you wish to delete. Wa-la, it is gone.
• NOW ... the apps simply wiggle but no option to delete appears. Furthermore, the 2 options are to “edit home screen” or “share bookmark”. Selecting “edit home screen” doesn’t allow deletion.

I have researched options yet non are allowing me to simply delete the app! Frustrating! Help.
