Cannot send screenshot to iMessage. Crazy behavior with Big Sur

Ever since the update, I can not send a screenshot on my MacBook Air in

iMessage. In following some previous solutions from communities, I

dragged an Iphoto to messages, it went but left photo in photos grayed out.

I cannot send a screenshot from Preview because I cannot crop and drag the picture here.

Why so many problems with BigSur. Any solutions?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

Nicholas, I followed the steps, and still the same problem. Under spotlight searching as to where the screenshot is, it was not in IMessages, but in iCloud Desktop as with more than 45,000 images of god knows what.

In addition to checking my Photos, after the help I received from Apple most of my pictures were there at about 45,000, but this photo library changed and it is not my main Photolibrary. When I went to iCloud, most of the iCloud storage is minimal to what I should have. I do not know what to do with these problems. Thank you B

Hello Bgstock,

We would like to see how we can help you with sending Images with iMessage. Did this start immediately after upgrading the macOS? Does this happen when sending to a different contact? Do you have an iPhone you are using the same Apple ID with?

Simply using safe mode may resolve this issue. What we need to do is see if the problem persists during safe mode. Here are the steps we’ll need to take to do so: How to use safe mode on your Mac

After the device boots into safe mode, try to reproduce the problem. Knowing whether or not the problem persists in safe mode will provide valuable insight as to how deep the problem may be rooted.

Cheers!
